Bad grades in first semester of college. How badly can this affect me?

Spring semester is about to end and no matter how hard i tried, i was not able to achieve the best i know i can. I have a lot of potential, i know this, but my drive for success is not very strong, though i do dream big. I ace exams like crazy and my writing assignments are often praised. What can i do to really push myself to try harder? I started the semester with english 101, psych 52 (aspects of human sexuality), math 115, and service learning. I ended up dropping math half way through the semester 'cause that's when i started not understanding it, too late to receive a "w", thus receiving an "F". As for english, i couldn't focus and ended dropping too late on that one too and also failed. Service learning was easy so that's okay. and lastly, psychology 52...loved the class but i have 3 essays due tomorrow (last day to turn them in) and i haven't started. I'm struggling so much to muster up the energy to do this. What's wrong with me?? This semester hasn't been too great. And if you noticed, my schedule is all over the place. Meaning, my major wasn't set. Next semester i will have changed my major to business and plan to work hard. Anyway, what i'm asking here is, will this failed semester affect my academic future in a significant manner? I plan on transferring, maximum two years from now. What can i do? Help please. Thank you.
