"Direct" Democracy is only ONE TYPE of Democracy. Why do you think Fox News is so intent on convincing..?

Technically it is a "Representative Republic." It is slightly more democratic then it has been when the founders set it up though. People elect Senators now and blacks, women and non-landowners can vote. Just because you can vote doesn't mean it is democracy. You vote for a representative and they can vote for whatever the hell they wish whether they said they would or not.
